Cosmology with the submillimetre galaxies magnification bias

چکیده

As in Gonzalez-Nuevo et al. 2017 and Bonavera 2019, the high-z sub-millimetre galaxies can be used as background sample for gravitational lensing studies thanks to their magnification bias. In particular, 2020 bias exploited order constrain free parameters of a Halo Occupation Distribution (HOD) model some main cosmological parameters. this work has been evaluated tool tomographic set up. The cross-correlation function (CCF) data have jointly astrophysical $M_{min}$, $M_{1}$ $\alpha$ each one selected redshift bins $\Omega_{M}$, $\sigma_{8}$, $H_0$ ones ($\Lambda$CDM). Moreover, we explore possible time evolution dark energy density introducing also $\omega_0, \omega_a$ joint analysis ($\omega_0$CDM $\omega_0\omega_a$CDM). CCF measured between foreground spectroscopic GAMA that divided into four (0.1-0.2, 0.2-0.3, 0.3-0.5 0.5-0.8) H-ATLAS with photometric redshifts >1.2. is modelled using description depends on HOD are estimated MCMC different cases. For $\Lambda$CDM model, yields maximum posterior value at 0.26 $[0.17,0.41]$ 68\% C.I. $\Omega_M$ 0.87 $[0.75,1]$ $\sigma_8$. With our current results not yet constrained. $\omega_0$CDM constraints $\sigma_8$ similar, but found $\omega_0$ -1 $[-1.56, -0.47]$ $\omega_0\omega_a$CDM -1.09 $[-1.72, -0.66]$ -0.19 $[-1.88, 1.48]$ $\omega_a$.

Exploiting magnification bias in ultradeep submillimetre-wave surveys using ALMA

The surface density of populations of galaxies with steep/shallow source counts is increased/decreased by gravitational lensing magnification. These effects are usually called ‘magnification bias’ and ‘depletion’ respectively. However, if sources are demagnified by lensing, then the situation is reversed, and the detectable surface density of galaxies with a shallow source count, as expected at...

HerMES: detection of cosmic magnification of submillimetre galaxies using angular crosscorrelation

Cosmic magnification is due to the weak gravitational lensing of sources in the distant Universe by foreground large-scale structure leading to coherent changes in the observed number density of the background sources. Depending on the slope of the background source number counts, cosmic magnification causes a correlation between the background and foreground galaxies, which is unexpected in th...

The Future of Millimetre and Submillimetre Cosmology

Using the submm array camera SCUBA on the 15-m JCMT it is now possible to conduct unbiased submm surveys and quantify the level of star-formation activity in the young Universe by observing the rest-frame FIR thermal emission from dust in highredshift galaxies. However an accurate interpretation of these existing submm cosmological surveys is prevented by uncertainties in the redshifts of the s...

Cosmology from Supernova Magnification Maps

High-z Type Ia supernovae are expected to be gravitationally lensed by the foreground distribution of largescale structure. The resulting magnification of supernovae is statistically measurable, and the angular correlation of the magnification pattern directly probes the integrated mass density along the line of sight. Measurements of cosmic magnification of supernovae therefore complements gal...

The nature of faint submillimetre-selected galaxies

We present the source catalogue for the SCUBA Lens Survey. We summarise the results of extensive multi-wavelength observations of the 15 submillimetre-selected galaxies in the catalogue, from X-rays to radio. We discuss the main observational characteristics of faint submillimetre galaxies as a population, and consider their interpretation within the framework of our understanding of galaxy for...
